Absences and make ups
Marking absences for swimming lessons allows you to book make up classes.
- Absences must be marked on MyPortal or the App at least two (2) hours before your class, per our class policy.
- After marking an absence, you will be able to book a make up class for the absence within a 3 month period.
- You are limited to a maximum of 12 make up lessons per calendar year.
- Make up lessons cannot be rescheduled or cancelled once they are booked.
- The absence and make up process is different for MyPortal and App users. If you are unsure what your centre uses, please contact us.

BlueFit Swimming MyPortal customers:
This section is for users attending facilities which use the online BlueFit Swimming MyPortal site. If your centre uses the BlueFit Swimming app, please skip to the next section.
To mark an absence and book make up lessons:
- Log-in to MyPortal (select your centre).
- Select ‘Classes’, then ‘Current Bookings’
- Select ‘Manage’ for the booking you want to cancel and make-up.
- Mark the student absent. Please note, this is NOT reversible.
- After marking absent, the ‘Book Make-up’ button will appear. This option will remain on the account for 3 months.
- To book make ups, select ‘Book Make-up’ and choose make-up day. (Please note that once a make-up class is booked, it cannot be rescheduled or cancelled. If you're unable to attend, the make-up class will be forfeited.)
- Check out.
- Scroll down the page, review/agree to the terms and conditions, and select ‘Submit’.
- You will receive a booking confirmation email. If you do not, the make-up class has not been properly booked.
BlueFit Swimming App customers:
This section is for users attending facilities which use the BlueFit Swimming app.
To mark an absence and book make up lessons:
- Open the BlueFit Swimming App and log in
- Tap the 'Account' icon at the bottom right-hand side of the screen
- Select your child's initials
- Once you have accessed your child's profile, select 'Future Absences' to mark an absence for one class or a date range (e.g. where you are going on holidays)
- After marking absent, and once the scheduled class has passed, a makeup token will become available for you to use within 12 months
- To book make ups, tap the 'Account' icon as above, select 'Makeups' and then select 'Current Location Make Up Tokens'
- On the subsequent screen, you'll be presented with available make-up class options. You have the flexibility to adjust days and view available slots. (Please note that once a make-up class is booked, it cannot be rescheduled or cancelled. If you're unable to attend, the make-up class will be forfeited.)
- Select the desired class and confirm by tapping 'Use Token' and your make up class will then be successfully booked.

Can I mark absences or book make ups over the phone/in-person?
Absences and make ups must be marked on either the BlueFit Swimming MyPortal or App as above. We can only mark absences or book make ups over the phone/in-person in exceptional circumstances.
